An episode of "The Ed Sullivan Show" guest starring Mickey Rooney. Ed's show ran from June 20, 1948 to June 6, 1971. Until 1955 it was titled "Toast of the Town." Sunday nights belonged to Ed, a former newspaperman with an odd delivery and narration style. The other networks tried show after show to dethrone him. His shows were famous for their variety: classical music and ballet might be followed by a guy who balanced plates on wobbly sticks and dancing bears.
