DESCRIPTION
Scott Brady starred in the title role of this half-hour syndicated western series, which ran from 1959 to 1960, as a sort of nineteenth-century Peter Gunn. Shotgun Slade was an unusual blend of western hero and slick private detective, with our hero wandering the west on horseback, always on the lookout for various criminals wanted by saloon owners, banks or Wells Fargo. Each episode featured a jazz score by Gerald Fried and an unusual cast of supporting characters. In case of trouble, Slade would rely on his specially designed double-barreled shotgun. The lower barrel fired a 12-gauge shotgun shell, while the upper one discharged a .32 caliber rifle bullet. Each volume contains four complete episodes. Volume 1 contains these episodes: KILLER'S BRAND, A FLOWER ON BOOT HILL, LOST GOLD, and BACKTRACK.
