DESCRIPTION
Richard Greene plays Robin Hood, the dashing hero of Sherwood Forest in this adventure series set in medieval England. Robin Hood robs the rich and gives to the poor, liberates oppressed peasants and rescues maidens - all to the exasperation of the evil sheriff of Nottingham. Three episodes on one volume:
- THE KNIGHT WHO CAME TO DINNER - The Merry Men meet a penniless knight, Sir Richard of the Lea, mortgaged to the hilt who cannot pay his debt. Robin lends him what he needs. To ensure they get their money back, Tuck travels along as Sir Richard's squire. Guest Stars: Ian Hunter, Robin Bailey.
- THE WAGER - Robin bets Friar Tuck that he can collect more money by begging than Tuck can by prayer. But Norman soldiers make things very difficult for the apprentice beggars. Guest Stars: Geoffrey Keen, George Rose.
- THE FRIAR’S PILGRIMAGE - Unusually, Robin decides to accompany Friar Tuck on his pilgrimage to Canterbury, but several people are glad he did, when they are soon entangled in a case of witchcraft. Guest Stars: Greta Gynt, Paul Eddington, Patrick Troughton (Dr. Who), Maureen Davis.
