DESCRIPTION
1936 - As Poverty Row mysteries go, this is very good one. A famed detective (Miljan) comes to a party at a ritzy country estate. Before you know it, there are three corpses strewn about the grounds. It seems an escaped lunatic may be the culprit, but Miljan suspects numerous others, including a notorious gangster played to the hilt by Madison. However, clues lead in so many directions that it's almost impossible to guess whom the real killer is. Put your thinking caps on for this one. Solid performances enhance a complex, intelligently written script. Most recommended. 16mm.
