1959 - An early space flight sci-fi adventure. A group of NASA scientists put a wolf through extensive training for a flight into outer space. Finally, the big day comes, and the four-legged astronaut is launched into the heavens aboard a rocket that flies deep into space, eventually orbiting the moon! When the capsule returns, it lands in Lapland amid snarling wolves that threaten searchers. Oddly, this '50s sci-fi rarity is omitted from most reference books, but it's definitely sci-fi, particularly during the first half. Released here in '64. 16mm.
