  • The Lonely Villa aka 'In A Lonely Villa' (June 10, 1909 - approx. 8 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith. - Based on the play 'At the Telephone' by André de Lorde. Starring Mary Pickford, Charles Avery, Clara T. Bracy, Adele DeGarde, Gladys Egan, Robert Harron, Arthur V. Johnson, James Kirkwood, Marion Leonard, Owen Moore, Anthony O'Sullivan, Mack Sennett.

  • Sweet Memories (1911 - approx. 8 minutes - Silent) Directed by Thomas H. Ince. Mary Pickford plays a young lady who tells her grandmother about her new engagement to be married. The happy news casuses the elderly woman to reminisce about her own sweetheart, many years before. The touching sequence reaffirms the cycle of life going on, the woman aging as her children grow and have children of their own. A gentle and sweet example of Mary Pickford's early work.

  • Her First Biscuits (1909 - 6 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith. Starring Mary Pickford, Linda Arvidson, Dorothy Bernard, Clara T. Bracy, John Compson, Charles Craig, Flora Finch, Guy Hedlund, Arthur V. Johnson, Florence Lawrence, Marion Leonard, Owen Moore, Harry Myers, George Nichols, Anthony O'Sullivan, Mack Sennett, Harry Solter, Marion Sunshine. A young bride makes a batch of biscuits. Her husband pretends to like them, so she delivers the rest to his office so that he can enjoy them all day long. The problem is that one bite of her horrible biscuits makes everyone violently ill, and soon all of her husband's visitors and business associates are ill, and angry.

  • Female of the Species (1912 - 17 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith. Starring Mary Pickford, Dorothy Bernard, Claire McDowell. This is the story of three women and a man stranded in the desert and trying to walk out. The man dies and acrimony between his wife and one of the women erupts. Soon they find an orphaned indian baby and are reconciled by their mutual maternal instincts. The film is exceptional for its quality of photography and composition. The clearly-drawn characters, and the emotional intensity revealed by the clever use of close-ups are pure D. W. Griffith.

  • New York Hat (1912 - 16 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith. When poor old Mrs. Harding dies, she leaves a mysterious letter to her pastor. The note tells how her cold, miserly husband worked her to death. She asks that the pastor administer a small trust fund which she has bequeathed her daughter so that the girl might enjoy some of the finer things in life which her father has always denied her. The village milliner has the latest hat styles from New York, one of which has caught the girl's fancy. The pastor, doing his best to be loyal to the dying mother's wishes, purchases the hat for the young lady igniting a wildfire of gossip in the small town.

  • Violin Maker of Cremona (1909 - 10 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith Starring Mary Pickford, Clara T. Bracy, John Compson, Arthur V. Johnson, Violet Mersereau, David Miles, Owen Moore, Anthony O'Sullivan, Herbert Prior, Mack Sennet.

  • 1776 or The Hessian Renegades (1909 - 10 minutes - Silent) Directed by D. W. Griffith. Starring Linda Arvidson, Kate Bruce, William J. Butler, D. W. Griffith, Arthur V. Johnson, James Kirkwood, Florence Lawrence, Marion Leonard, Wilfred Lucas, Owen Moore, Lottie Pickford, Mary Pickford, Billy Quirk, Mack Sennett, Henry B. Walthall. This is an early Pickford and Griffith project about the early stages of the 1776 American revolution. The Renegade Hessians live in a farm house, but when the Redcoats follow one of the revolutionaries home he is forced to hide in a suitcase. He is eventually found and chaos insues as the Brit's guard the house. Pickford has a minor role in this short, but the part where she dresses up as a British soldier is funny and interesting.
